The risk of injury during teambuilding activities is approximately 5 times higher than during regular work activities. Employees often perform completely new activities and underestimate the risks associated with them. In addition, the relaxed atmosphere encourages overestimation of one's own abilities.
Resolving work‑related injuries arising from teambuilding is complicated in the Czech legal environment, mainly due to the ambiguous definition of the performance of work tasks and the direct connection with the performance of work, which are key to the classification of a work‑related injury. The case law is also not uniform. Some cases were recognized as work‑related accidents, in other cases the courts ruled that teambuilding was not part of the work tasks.
The online course OHS during teambuilding offers solutions not only for preventing injuries during teambuilding, but also maximum legal protection for the employer against lawsuits, reduction of insurance benefits or sanctions from state supervision in the event of an injury during teambuilding.
The course addresses several obligations of employers when organizing teambuilding:
- Definition of the working and non‑working parts of the teambuilding program.
- Training employees on OHS during teambuilding activities.
- Declaration of medical fitness to participate in teambuilding.
The course also includes a methodology and sample documentation for developing a program for individual teambuilding events.
